Kevin Kaiser

Artistic/Executive Director, Owner, Ballet, IDTPG Choreographer

Mr. Kaiser started dancing when he was four years old. He is one of five brothers that made up a professional tap dancing group. The “Kaiser Brothers” grew up outside of Seattle and toured the United States throughout their childhood. Mr. Kaiser began his professional ballet career at age sixteen with Pennsylvania Ballet under the Direction of Barbara Weisberger. Mr. Kaiser returned to Seattle and joined Pacific Northwest Ballet under the direction of Kent Stowell and Francia Russell. For fifteen years he performed a wide range of repertoire. Mr. Kaiser danced roles from world-renowned choreographers including George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Paul Taylor, Kent Stowell, Marius Petipa, Anthony Tudor, Lar Lubovich and Glen Tetley. Mr. Kaiser danced a very diverse repertoire from Paul Taylor’s “Company B” to George Balanchine’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” Divertissement Pas De Deux, George Balanchine’s “Serenade” to almost every male role in Kent Stowell’s “Nutcracker” from the Prince to Drosselmeyer. In addition Mr. Kaiser enjoyed dancing Anthony Tudors “Jardin Aux Lilac”, Mercutio in Kent Stowell’s “Romeo and Juliet” and Glen Tetley’s “Voluntaries.”

After retiring, Mr. Kaiser was appointed Ballet Master with Oregon Ballet Theatre and later promoted to Associate Artistic Director under the direction of James Canfield. While at the Oregon Ballet Theatre Mr. Kaiser staged works choreographed by James Canfield, George Balanchine, Donald Byrd, Robert Joffrey, David Parsons and Val Caniparoli. Mr. Kaiser has an extensive teaching background throughout the United States that includes Pacific Northwest Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, Oregon Ballet Theatre, Dance Educators of America, Tulsa Ballet and many more. Mr. Kaiser’s ties to the ballet world can be felt throughout the United States. His older brother Roy Kaiser, was the Artistic Director of Pennsylvania Ballet in Philadelphia for over twenty years. His younger brother Russell danced with New York City Ballet and is now Assistant Artistic Director for Boston Ballet. Ken and Dan Kaiser are both Artistic Directors of ballet schools and regional companies.

Mr Kaiser enjoys bringing in guest faculty such as Lindsi Dec, Jonathan Porretta, James Moore, Jerome and Laura Tisserand and others from throughout the country to allow students a broader outlook on dance. Mr. Kaiser believes anyone who wants to learn dance should have the opportunity to do so. Mr. Kaiser is excited to bring his years of dedication and experience in the field of dance to IDT and this rapidly growing area of the Northwest.

Hailey Watters

School Administrative Director, IDTPG Co Director & Choreographer, Ballet, Children's Program

Hailey Watters was born and raised in Seattle and has been studying dance for most of her life. She has had the opportunity to train, perform, and travel all around the United States honing her craft. Hailey studied at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City for two years and went on to receive her B.A. in Creative Studies with a concentration in Dance from the University of Washington. Go Dawgs! She has interned at the The John F. Kennedy Center in the “Performing Arts for Everyone”/Millennium Stage department in Washington D.C. where she assisted in the production of a host of multidisciplinary performances. She also had the pleasure of interning at Dance/USA where she helped plan their 2015 Annual Conference in Miami, FL. She is a firm believer in the arts connecting communities and advocates for all children having access to the arts. Hailey will be starting her 9th season with IDT!

Shannon Adams

Shannon comes from Salt Lake City, Utah and has studied dance since the age of 5. Her earliest memories are moving and being consumed with all things dance! She has trained in Korean folk dance, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, and Modern Dance. She danced competitively, both regionally and nationally, and was a two time Tremaine Dance Convention Scholarship recipient. She also had the opportunity to study at the EDGE dance studio, Performing Dance Center, Broadway Dance Center, Steps on Broadway, Dance New Amsterdam, Peridance, The Joffrey Ballet School, Parson’s Dance Company Summer Program, American Dance Festival, The University of the Arts Summer Program, and The School at Jacob’s Pillow where she had the opportunity to study with some of the greats in jazz dance: Luigi, Matt Mattox, Chet Walker, and Patti Wilcox. Mrs. Adams graduated Cum Laude in 2004 from the University of Utah with a BFA in Modern Dance, and was a two time recipient of the Elizabeth R. Hayes scholarship. She has also performed locally for DASSdance. Shannon has a great love and passion for teaching and choreographing for her students at Issaquah Dance Theatre. She loves teaching all levels and ages and loves seeing the growth and artistry in all of her students.

Hayley is from the Pacific Northwest and started her dance training at age 5 with Bremerton Dance Center. She joined BDC’s partner pre professional company Peninsula Dance Theatre from 2002- 2018 and performed in many principal roles. Being part of Regional Dance America/ Pacific, Hayley had the pleasure of performing and taking master classes at many festivals held around the U.S. She has taught various dance styles including Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, and Jazz to all ages over the last 10 years. She has choreographed for various shows as well. Hayley started her own dancewear line in 2021 and is an advocate for anyone who wants to dance (every body is a dance body). She is happy to start her fourth season with IDT.

Danielle Wilkins | Ballet, Stage Manager, IDTPG Choreographer

Danielle trained with the Louisville Ballet School for 12 years as well as attending a Youth Performing Arts High School (YPAS) in KY. She received her BFA in dance pedagogy/performance from the University of Hartford, during which she performed at the Kennedy Center as a soloist in Jean Grand Maître’s Uroboros. In addition, she trained with dance masters like Peggy Lyman, Kirk Peterson, Franco Devita, and Maria Youskevitch. Danielle trained in NYC at The Alvin Ailey School and The Limon Institute and worked professionally in New York with Rebecca Kelly Ballet, Mary Seidman and Dancers, Mimi Garrard Dance Company, and danced in a site-specific project at Grand Central Station. After moving to Seattle, she worked with Spectrum Dance Theater under the direction of Donald Byrd; in which she performed in PNB’s Celebrate Seattle Festival and the Spoleto Festival in Italy. Danielle appeared as a “Shark girl” in the 5th Avenue Theater’s production of West Side Story and danced with Seattle Opera’s production of The Pearl Fisher’s. Danielle joined DASSdance in 1999 and danced in Festivals including the D.U.M.B.O Dance Festival the Dance Now Festival in NYC and at Diane von Furstenberg -The Theatre. Danielle has taught at numerous schools including Hartford Ballet School, Island Dance, & Evergreen City Ballet. Danielle is excited to be starting her 9th season.

Emmy teaches compassion, creativity, and communication through the art of dance. She has professionally performed and taught ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, salsa, partnering, and hip hop for the past ten years across the USA and Kenya, focusing on dance as a tool to break down barriers and build communities. ​Emmy is the Program Director at Arts with a Purpose. This program utilizes dance, art, music, and creative writing to build meaningful relationships; empowering trauma-impacted youth to develop tools which foster a healthy, productive future. Emmy has experienced first-hand the life changing effects of dance, and her gratitude shines brightly in her teaching style. Emmy is in her 10th season with IDT.

Holly Logan Livingston | Contemporary, Jazz,  IDTPG Choreographer

Holly Logan Livingston

Holly Logan Livingston is a choreographer, dancer, and dance educator in the Seattle area. She studied ballet under Elena Dominguez-Bartley, Luis Dominguez, and Nancy Dominguez-Cole at the Performing Arts School of Metropolitan Toledo. At PAMT she also trained in Jazz (Giordano based), Tap, and also extensive training in Musical Theatre. Mrs. Logan went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Kent State University with a BFA in Dance Performance & Choreography with a minor in Theatre, where her studies not only included daily technique classes but also in dance composition, dance pedagogy, as well as dance mechanics and anatomy. Since her graduation in 2009 Holly has worked as a performer with companies such as Verlezza Dance (Cleveland Ohio) and here in Seattle with Sixth Day Dance as a performer, choreographer and instructor. Holly is also the Artistic Director and founder of a professional company in Seattle called Intrepedis.

Derek Rajah

Hip Hop, IDTPG Choreographer

Derek Rajah (he/him/his) is super excited to teach at IDT. He has been free styling on and off for many years and has choreographed for various studios over the last four years. He moved to the Seattle area last August and loves the dance community here! Currently, he is dancing at The Garden in Seattle and is excited to start his 2nd year at IDT!

Adel Miller

Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, IDTPG Choreographer

Adel started her love for movement with gymnastics at the age of 3. At age four she entered the world of dance and discovered hip hop and jazz. A year later, she was interested in expanding her dance vocabulary and pursued lyrical, contemporary, and ballet. Ever since she stepped into a dance class, she’s known that dancing and choreographing is her passion. This is Adel’s first year at IDT and she is excited to join the team! She hopes to inspire dancers to find their unique individuality in their movement through her own unique dance style.

Kirsten Haug

Acro, IDTPG Choreographer

Kirsten started her dance career at the age of 10 where she was a competitive drill team dancer. She later became a competitive cheerleader and a Level 5 gymnast. She has performed in a singing, drama and dance touring group and has been the creator and choreographer for her own hip-hop company for children. She has coached gymnastics as well as cheer at Cascade Elite Gymnastics. She was a co- head coach for Roosevelt High School Cheer Squad focusing on tumbling and stunting.  For the past 5 years she has been a hip-hop instructor at Woodinville Dance Academy and in the past 4 years has created and grown the Acro program there. Kirsten has a very big passion for dance as well as working with children and is excited to be at IDT!

Hanna Orban

Jazz, Contemporary, IDTPG Choreographer

Hanna has been dancing since she was 6 years old. She has enjoyed learning many forms of dance including ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary and lyrical. Hanna began competitively dancing at the age of 10. During her time on the team she’s enjoyed winning many awards alongside her fellow teammates and has received scholarships from well-known artists. Hanna is very excited to be sharing her knowledge and passion for dance with students at IDT.

El Web

Ballet

El is a Detroit native, and accomplished ballet dancer with twenty-plus years of experience, El has lived in Seattle for 4 years now. They were inducted into Miami City Ballet’s professional training program at seventeen. El began dancing from 2013-2018 for companies such as Charlotte Ballet, Ballet Austin, and Milwaukee Ballet, eventually finding their home at California’s Bay Pointe Ballet. Over their career, El performed in several noteworthy productions such as: Christopher Wheeldon’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Balanchine’s Western Symphony, and playing the role of Mina in Bruce Steivel’s Dracula. El’s diverse experiences have afforded them a wide understanding of various styles and techniques, including Vaganova and Cecchetti syllabi. El is excited to return to Issaquah Dance Theater this season!

Thomas Phelan

Ballet

Thomas Phelan is originally from Fort Collins, Colorado. It was there he earned a BFA in Performing Arts from Colorado State University. After graduation Thomas moved to Anchorage Alaska where he danced and taught for Alaska Dance Theater. From there he’s made his way south to Seattle and has been exuberantly dancing with Whim W’him and House of Verlaine. Wonderfully enriching guest artist opportunities also include Alana O Rogers, The Cabiri, Olympic Ballet Theater, international Ballet Academy and Ballet Bellevue. Thomas absolutely loves moving and sharing with others. Happily located and performing in Seattle, Thomas enjoys teaching gymnastics, acrobatics, ballet, jazz and other contemporary dance forms.

Audrey Beaver

Hip Hop

Audrey is from Issaquah and started dancing with IDT at the age of 5. She has studied many styles including ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, hip hop, and more! Audrey has spent the past 6 years on IDT's Performing Group, earning 3 convention scholarships. She enjoys improv and developing storytelling pieces. Audrey has taken classes focusing in many different hip hop foundations including waving, whacking, popping, and house in the Seattle Area. This year she will be a senior in high school and it is her first season teaching at IDT!

Chessa Chalmers

Ballet

Chessa began her dance training at Pacific Northwest Ballet, before leaving to study with a private instructor. After several years, she moved to study with Mara Vinson and Oleg Gorbulev at Olympic Ballet Theatre, where she placed in Classical and Contemporary sections at the semifinals of Youth America Grand Prix. She has been awarded scholarships to and attended programs at Ballet Chicago, Oklahoma City Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet, Oregon Ballet Theatre, and VIVO Ballet (Rome, Italy) among others. Chessa has done 3 season as an artist at City Opera Ballet.

Anna Waltz

Contemporary

Anna is a recent graduate of the University of Washington, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She began dancing in South Florida at a young age, practicing a variety of styles such as jazz, tap, ballet, contemporary, acrobatics, and Hip Hop. She joined the competition team at the age of 6 and continued to compete every year until graduating high school, even after moving to Issaquah at age 12 where she continued to train in the same styles at Issaquah Dance Theatre. 

 

She became a teacher at Issaquah Dance Theatre at the age of 16. Her favorite style to teach is tap, which she was able to explore in a summer program at the Rhythmic Souls Tap Company in Dallas, Texas in 2018. She began teaching at DASSdance in 2019 with the start of her undergraduate degrees at the University of Washington. She currently teaches contemporary at Issaquah Dance Theatre and has taught creative movement, tap, ballet, and Hip Hop in the past. In the classroom, Anna takes a holistic approach to teaching dance which includes teaching the cultural context of dance forms, a strong understanding of music, and basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology to preserve the health and wellbeing of dancers. She wants to encourage her students to develop their own sense of style and artistry, and hopes that they always leave her class feeling a sense of accomplishment.

Mallory Dehbod

Children's Program, Jazz 

Mallory was born and raised in the PNW. She began dancing as a child taking classes in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary and hip hop as well as joining her studio's competition team. She attended the University of Washington where she studied Communications and Dance. She returns to Issaquah Dance Theatre after a break to focus on motherhood and her career in media publishing. Mallory has a passion for working with kids and is excited to be back teaching at IDT.

Gabrielle Johansen

Ballet, Adult Ballet

Gabrielle took her first ballet class when she was 2 years old and that is where her journey in the dance world began! Gabrielle has always been dancing or moving in some way, shape or form. After dancing her elementary school years at a few studios, she moved on to Evergreen City Ballet where she stayed for 11 years! One of her favorite roles she performed was the wolf in Peter and the Wolf with choreography set by Daniel Wilkins. In addition to teaching in studio, she also taught through ECB’s outreach program teaching ballet during PE hour with Renton School Districts elementary schools.
Following her time at ECB, Gabrielle went on to dance in PNB’s outreach program and had the opportunity to dance during a Sonic’s halftime show, spent a summer at Kansas City Ballet, danced with Green River Community College’s cheerleading team, and then eventually landed in the company with 127th St Dance - a contemporary company out of Seattle. Gabrielle is very excited to be teaching joining IDT this season!

Isadora Kolmorgan

Contemporary, Jazz

Isadora Kolmorgan is a trained classical ballet dancer. In her formative years, she danced on company in Denver, CO with studios such as Michelle Latimer Dance Academy, Rocky Mountain Dance Academy, & Millers Dance Studio, often traveling for instruction in the ballet, musical theatre, lyrical, jazz, contemporary and modern, dance genres. After living abroad in the Philippines to study ballet at Silliman University, she later returned to Oregon where she participatined in the productions of Ballet Fantastique. It was ballet, however, that pulled her to return to Denver, Colorado At the National Ballet Academy of Denver, Isadora trained in the pre-professional program and obtained a certificate of completion- Assisted by scholarships, She then co-founded a dance studio on the Oregon Coast for the community youth in her home state; while performing in works, and productions, by Jessica Jaye Mackinson, founder of Fermata Ballet Collective. She has then taught at Alonzo King Lines Ballet in community programs, and Teens at Lines, Bay Area Conservatory, Miss Tilly’s Ballet. As well as numerous other places in the Bay Area. She has also taught at the Joffrey Ballet, and guest taught at other studio in IL. The joy of seeing students light up when dancing is one of the most spectacular things to witness, and that’s why she loves teaching! Isadora is more than thrilled to be back on the West Coast and join IDT!

Aria Storm

Accompanist

Aria Storm is a producer, composer, singer songwriter and multi instrumentalist. She graduated from UCLA with a BA in the composition and theory of music, where she also studied art. Her lush production of layered keyboards creates an ambient, psychedelic feel often heard as futuristic. Her tribal, trance inducing vocals were developed over years of being a professional dance musician and metaphysician. Aria is also an accomplished artist painting modern abstract acrylic works.

Marika Cohen

Children's Program, Ballet

Marika began her dance journey at the age of four, training locally in a wide range of styles including ballet, jazz, musical theater, lyrical, modern, and hip-hop. During her early years, she competed regionally and nationally as part of a dance team that earned 1st place at nationals and was featured on ESPN. In high school, Marika continued to hone her skills, performing with local hip-hop groups at events like the Seahawks Pre-Game Show and festivals such as Whirligig and Winterfest at the Seattle Center. In 2007, Marika's passion for dance naturally evolved into a love for teaching. She has taught at various studios across the region, as well as internationally in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where she lived for four years. 

During her time there, she taught at a nonprofit studio and founded a Dance Club at her university. Marika graduated from Payap University in 2013 with a degree in International Hospitality Management and returned to Seattle to begin a career in hospitality and property management. She later served as Executive Director at a nonprofit arts organization for five years. Marika loves to teach dance and takes the opportunity to do so whenever possible. With a desire to impact students’ individual expression through dance, she brings high energy, passion, and joy to each of her classes.
